Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus Jan 3

The feast of the Holy Name of Jesus will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. Mass will be at 8:15 AM with the school  children.

There will only be one lunch period on January 3, 2018. All the students will eat with Fr. Dan at NOON.

Applesauce
Salad/Dressing
Juice

If your child did not sign up for the pizza lunch on January 3 then they will need to bring a sack lunch.

Christmas Break - Dec 21 - Jan 2

Holy Name Catholic School students will begin Christmas break December 21, 2017 - January 2, 2018.

Second semester will begin on January 3, 2018.

First Semester ends -- Dec 20

The first semester will end on Wednesday, December 20th. School will be dismissed at 12:30 PM. Lunch will be served. There will be NO PM bus. Grade cards will be sent home in January.

Saint Nicholas -- Dec 6

Holy Name Catholic School Saint Nicholas parties will be on Wednesday, December 6 for Preschool - 6th grade.

Preschool students -- 10:15 AM.

Kindergarten - 6th grade -- 2:15 PM.

Christmas Program - Dec 5

Holy Name Catholic School Christmas program will be on Tuesday, December 5 at 7:00 PM. All school families and parishioners are invited to attend.

Grandparents - Dec. 1

Holy Name Catholic School staff and students invite grandparents to attend Mass at 8:15 AM with the students on Friday, December 1st. After Mass there will be muffins and coffee in the gym. Around 9:30 AM there will a dress rehearsal of the Christmas program.

Assisted Living residents will be attending the dress rehearsal at 9:30 AM.

Leadership Council - Nov 28

Holy Name Catholic School Leadership Council will visit the Assisted Living on Tuesday, November 28 at 9:30 AM.

Teacher In-service - Nov 20

Teachers will be attending Regan Institute in Pittsburg on Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21. There will be NO school on November 20 & November 21.

Happy Thanksgiving -- No school on Wednesday, November 22, Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24.

Free Dress - Nov 13

"Free Dress" day on Monday, November 13 for those students that bring canned goods for the Thanksgiving baskets.

Two canned goods -- Free Dress

Bring $2.00 -- Free Dress

Bring one canned good -- Either have a free dress of uniform top or uniform pants.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Students will be collecting canned goods the week of November 6 - 13. Canned goods collected will be used to prepare "Thanksgiving baskets".

Skate Night - October 29

The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a skate night on Sunday, October 29 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The cost is $1.00 per skater. What a wonderful way to spend time together as a family.

Small Communities - October 27

Small Communities will meet on Friday, October 27 at 1:30 PM in the gym. Students will need to wear their "Small Community" t-shirt with uniform pants. Students will be learning more about the sacraments.

Volleyball Game - October 17

Knights of Columbus vs. Leadership Council Volleyball game will be on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the gym. Make plans to attend!!  Go Holy Name Catholic Saints!!!

Coffeyville Community College Nursing students will be at Holy Name Catholic School on Thursday, April 27 at 1:00 PM to present on various wellness topics.

Knights of Columbus Skate Night - April 23

The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a skate night on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. All school and parish families are invited to attend. Come join the fun.

Mid-Term -- April 21

Holy Name Catholic School Mid-term for quarter 4 will be Friday, April 21, 2017. Mid-Term reports will be sent home to all school families in grades K - 6.

Kickball Game - April 20

The Wellness Committee has planned and organized our next Wellness Activity.  Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 6:30 PM school families are invited to play kickball on the Holy Name Catholic School playground.

Pizza Hut Day - April 18

Want time away from the kitchen?  Let Pizza Hut do all of the work and help our school at the same time.

Enjoy the lunch time buffet, plan to meet friends and family there, take carry-out home or have pizza, pasta and more delivered.

Just leave your paid receipt in the jar on the counter by the cash register at Pizza Hut marked for Holy Name School that day or evening.   

Pizza Hut will donate to Holy Name School 20% of the total receipts turned in for sales on April 18, 2017

CRS Rice Bowl - April 13

Holy Name Catholic School "Small Communities" will meet on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 1:30 PM. in the gym. Students need to wear their small communities t-shirt and uniform pants/shorts.

Live Stations of the Cross - March 31

The 6th grade students at Holy Name Catholic School will be presenting shadow Stations of the Cross on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the gym. Everyone in the parish and school is invited to attend.

Spring Break

Holy Name Catholic School Spring break will be March 20 - 24.

Third Nine Weeks

The third nine weeks will end on Friday, March 10.  Parent Teacher Conferences will be on Thursday, March 16th.

Stations of the Cross

The students will be praying the Stations of the Cross each Friday at 2:15 PM. Everyone in the school and parish is invited.

Science Fair - Feb 21

Holy Name Catholic School Science Fair will be on Tuesday, February 21 in the school gym. Students in grades 1 - 6 will present their projects at 12:30 PM and 7:00 PM (after the PTO meeting) in the gym. Everyone is invited to attend.

Walking in Sisters Activity

Holy Name Catholic School Leadership Council will be selling tape starting February 6 - 17, 2017 each morning at 7:30 AM in the gym. Students can purchase tape to "tape Fr. Chad to the gym wall". Money earned from this activity will benefit Walking in Sisters Shoes.

Fr. Chad will be taped to the gym wall on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM.

Spelling Bee

Holy Name Catholic School Spelling Bee will be Friday, February 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the gym.

Basketball Game - February 2

The Knights of  Columbus vs. the 5th and 6th grade students in a basketball game on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 6:00 PM in the gym. Everyone in the parish is invited to attend.

Appreciation breakfast for Parishioners

Holy Name Catholic School PTO will provide a pancake break for all Holy Name parishioners on Sunday, January 29, 2017 beginning at 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM in the gym. Holy Name Catholic School would like to show our appreciation to our parishioners for all that they do for the school.

Care Packages

One of our service projects during Catholic Schools Week is to prepare care packages for those serving in the military. A list of care package items for soldiers will be sent home with the students. Please watch the website for a list of items posted on the school website.
