First day of School

The first day of school at Holy Name Catholic School will be on Monday, August 13, 2018.

Summer School

Summer school will begin on Monday, July 9 - 20 from 9:00 - Noon. For more information contact the school office.

Totus Tuus

Totus Tuus will begin on June 18 - 22 at Holy Name Catholic School. For more information contact Sister Janelle at 251-0475.

Passing of the Light - May 23

The Passing of the Light ceremony will be after the 8:15 AM Mass on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.

Kindergarten Graduation - May 23

Kindergarten graduation will be on Wednesday, May 23 at 11:00 AM in the gym.

First in Math Assembly - May 21

Our First in Math Assembly to announce the top three winners for the school year will be on Monday, May 21 at 2:10 PM.

Grandparents - May 18

Grandparents you are invited to attend Mass with the students on Friday, May 18 at 8:15 AM. Students will meet you in the back of the church.

Culminating Project - May 16

Holy Name Catholic School 6th grade students will present their culminating projects on Wednesday, May 16 at 1:00 PM in the gym.

Preschool Awards - May 15

Holy Name Catholic School Preschool Awards will be on Tuesday, May 15 at 7:00 PM in the gym.

Meeting with Fr. Dan (May 1 - 4)

Fr. Dan would like to meet with all Catholic school families for about 20 minutes at the rectory. If you will have a child during the 2018-2019 school year that will be in Kindergarten - 6th grade you will need to schedule a time to meet with Fr. Dan.   He has scheduled times on May 1, May 2, May 3 and May 4. To sign up to meet with Fr. Dan stop by the school office and complete the sign up sheet.

MAP Testing -- April 30 - May 11

Holy Name Catholic School students (K-6) will begin MAP testing on Monday, April 30.

Math State Assessments - April 16 - 20

Math State Assessments will start the week of April 16 for students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. Please make sure your child eats breakfast and gets plenty of sleep.

Kindergarten Roundup - April 20

Wellness Activity - April 19

Holy Name Catholic School Wellness Committee has planned and organized a game of kickball for the school families. Weather permitting we will meet on the playground at 6:00 PM on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Call to Prayer - April 13

We are dedicating Friday, April 13th to prayer and sacrifice for the intention: "We pray that God may grant those affected by abuse in any way the courage to tell their story and seek healing."

Students will pray a decade of the rosary on Friday, April 13 at 2:30 PM. Weather permitting we will meet in front of the Holy Family Statue to pray.

Small Communities - April 13

Small Communities will meet on Friday, April 13 at 2:00 PM in the gym. We would like for students to wear their "Small Communities" t-shirt with uniform pants/shorts.

State Assessments

State Assessments will start the week of April 2 for students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6. Please make sure your child eats breakfast and gets plenty of sleep.

Wear "Blue" uniform shirt - April 4

The month of April is set aside as Child Abuse Prevention month. Prayer is the most important way you can help the Church most effectively offer healing to survivors of abuse, seek reconciliation with affected communities, and protect children.

April 4 -- Wear "blue" uniform shirt.

April 4 -- Place "pinwheels" in front of the school.

April 6 -- Pray a rosary to Our Lady with special intentions for victims/survivors of abuse and the defense of the vulnerable.

Carnival Assembly - April 4

There will be a carnival assembly at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, April 4 in the school gym.

Spring Break -- March 19 - 23

Holy Name Catholic School Spring Break will be March 19 - 23.

Parent/Teacher Conferences - March 15

Holy Name Catholic School parent/teacher conferences will be Thursday, March 15 beginning at 3:15 PM. A schedule will be sent home.

Quarter 3 ends - March 9

The third nine weeks will end on Friday, March 9th. Students may wear shorts beginning on Monday, March 12.

HNCS T-shirts - March 2

Students may wear their HNCS T-shirt on Friday, March 2.

Vocation Day - March 1

The 6th graders will travel to St. Patrick's Catholic School in Parsons on Thursday, March 1 for Vocation Day. This will be an opportunity for the students to learn more about  religious vocations.

First Confession - Feb 21

First Confession will be on Wednesday, February 21 at 7:00 PM in the church.

Science Fair - Feb 20

Holy Name Catholic School Science Fair will be on Tuesday, February 20 in the gym. Students will be in the gym at 12:30 PM and after the PTO meeting to discuss their projects.

PTO Meeting - Feb 20

Holy Name Catholic School PTO will meet on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00 PM in the gym. Science Fair projects will be on display that evening.

Spelling Bee - Feb 2

Holy Name Catholic Spelling Bee will be on Friday, February 2 at 1:00 PM in the gym.

We would like for students to wear their HNCS Saints T-shirts on Friday, February 2.  Show your school spirit.

Family Game Night - Feb 1

Holy Name Catholic School will host a family board game night on February 1 at 6:00 PM in the gym.

Fr. Dan will talk about his vocation to the priesthood on Wednesday, January 31 at 10:00 AM in the gym. All parishioners and school families are invited to attend.

Knights of Columbus vs. Leadership Council Basketball - Jan 30

The Knights of Columbus vs. Leadership Council basketball game will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in the school gym. All school families and parishioners are invited to attend.

Assisted Living -- Jan 23

Leadership Council will visit the residents at the Assisted Living on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

MAP Testing - Jan 8 - 19

Winter MAP testing will begin on Monday, January 8 - Friday, January 19, 2018 for students in grades K - 6.

Teacher in-service - Jan 15

Teachers will be attending an in-service on Monday, January 15, 2018. There will be NO school at Holy Name Catholic School.
