Gifts for Baby Jesus
This year during the Advent season, we are planning on placing the "manger" in the hall (near the office) of the school starting on Monday, December 3, 2012. It will remind the students as they enter the building each day that we are preparing for the "birth" of Jesus Christ our Savior.
If students would like to bring baby gifts to place around the manger, they could do so as their gift to Mary and baby Jesus. They could bring socks, rattles, diapers, onesies, make a card, etc. as possible gift ideas. Prior to Christmas break, we will ask a representative from the Midwest Pregnancy Center here in Coffeyville to come to the school to accept the gifts that the students brought. The students can feel the joy of "giving" to others
Other suggestions for items needed at the Midwest Pregnancy Center...
They are very low in layette items and diapers!!! Crib sheets, hooded towels and wash cloths, burp rags, sleepers, onesies, newborn outfits (boy), packages of 4 and 8 oz bottles, booties, shampoo, baby wash, powder and lotion, pacifiers, sippy cups, small newborn and infant toys. Diapers sizes newborn to size 6.
