Geography Bee

The Holy Name Catholic School Geography Bee will be on Monday, December 20th at 1:00 PM in the gym. All are invited to attend.

AR Lunch

AR Lunch will be on Friday, December 17th at 11:30 PM in the gym. There will only be one lunch period that day.

Christmas Program

Holy Name Catholic School Christmas Program will be on Tuesday, December 14th at 7:00 PM in the gym. All are invited to attend.

Immaculate Conception

Mass for the Immaculate Conception will be as follows....

Vigil Mass at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, December 7th.
Mass at 8:15 AM on Wednesday, December 8th. All students will attend Mass (PS - 6).
Mass at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 8th.

This is a Holy Day of Obligation.

Our Lady of Guadalupe

The feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is on December 12th. This year the students at Holy Name Catholic School will pray a novena at 12:30 in the gym to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe. We will start on Friday, December 3rd and continue the week of December 6th. Everyone is invited to come and pray with the students.

Schwan Delivery

Friday, December 3rd in the parking lot behind the church/school the Schwan truck will be here from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. During that time Schwan orders can be picked up.

First Friday

There will be Adoration and Benediction on Friday, December 3rd after the 8:15 Mass.

Family Math Night

Family Math Night will be on Thursday, December 2 at 6:00 PM in the gym. Make plans to come and play math games with your child. We will end by 6:40 PM so that we can attend the Parish Mission at 7:00 PM.

2-day Preschool St. Nick Party

The 2-day preschool St. Nick Party will be Thursday, December 2 at 10:15 AM.

Parish Mission

The Parish Mission will be November 27 - December 2, 2010,

Father Jim from the Fathers of Mercy will lead the mission. The theme for our mission is Spiritual Combat.

Advent Prayer Service

The 6th grade will lead the Advent Prayer Service at 8:30 AM in the gym on Monday, November 29th. Everyone is invited to the prayer service.

Regan Institute

Monday, November 22 and Tuesday, November 23 all teachers will attend the Regan Institute in Pittsburg. Each teacher takes classes to renew their religion certification for the Diocese of Wichita.

There will be NO school November 22 - November 26.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

AR Assembly

Our AR assembly will be Friday, November 19th at 2:15 PM in the gym.

1st Nine Week Honor Roll Certificates will be passed out at this assembly.

Thanksgiving Mass

The school children will bring canned goods to Mass on Friday, November 19th. At offertory they will place their canned goods around the altar.

Rosary

The 6th graders will lead the rosary on Thursday, November 18th after the 8:15 AM Mass. The intention this week will be for the sick in our parish.

Please come and pray the rosary with the 6th graders.

School Council

School Council will meet at 6:00 PM in St. Joseph Room on Wednesday, November 17th.

HSA Meeting

There will be an HSA meeting on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:00 PM in the gym. We will have a short HSA meeting followed by a guest speaker. Our speaker will present on Internet Safety for children.

Canned Goods

Students may have a free dress day if they bring canned goods for the food pantry or $2.00 for the Holy Name Food Pantry.

One canned good....Free uniform shirt or pants
Two canned goods.....Free Dress day
If they bring $2.00 for the Holy Name Food Pantry....Free Dress Day.

Students will take their canned goods to Mass on Friday, November 19th and place them around the altar at offertory time.

Bishop Jackels

The weekend of November 20 & 21st Bishop Michael Jackels will be at Holy Name. He will be speaking at ALL the masses that weekend on the Together Vision.

Thanksgiving Mass

Friday, November 19th students in grades K - 6 will place the canned goods that they brought from home around the altar. Food collected will be given to the Holy Name Parish Food Pantry.

School Council

School Council will meet on Wednesday, November 17th at 6:00 PM in St. Joseph's Room.

Life Education

Students in grades K - 6 will be participating in Life Education on November 17 or November 19th.

HSA Meeting

There will be a HSA meeting on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:00 PM. We will have a guest speaker that evening. H.S.A. would like to invite everyone to listen to Jill Koslosky from CCC speak on Internet Safety for Kids.

Barnes & Noble

Give the Gift of Literacy To Our School
Barnes and Noble at Bradley Fair, 1920 N. Rock Road – Wichita, is hosting a special book fair fundraiser on November 13, 2010 from 10-6 to help purchase book for our library. The holiday season is approaching – books make perfect gifts for family, friends, teachers, schools! Purchase a book for you, your family, or give a book to our school library- any purchase will support our school. You must mention the bookfair at the register. Our “wish list” will be available at the fair. Proceeds from the book fair will be used to purchase additional library books for our school. Contact Lisa Payne for additional information regarding the bookfair and on-line purchases.

Rosary

The 6th graders will NOT be leading the rosary after the 8:15 AM Mass on Thursday, November 11th.

Mid-term

Mid-term for the 2nd nine weeks is Friday, November 12th. Mid-term grades will be sent home this week.

Schwan

Holy Name Catholic School will participate in the Schwan's fundraiser starting on Monday, November 8th. More information will be sent home next week.
